News from West Baghdad has been slow today, but northern Iraq, near the Syrian border, is still dealing with the aftermath of probably the deadliest attack to date.
The NYTimes has a good account of what happened, and background on the people in that area. Aside from the sheer number of people injured or killed, it was also startling because it targeted a group of Kurdish-speaking people who had been able to avoid most of the sectarian violence. Many believe that insurgents are being driven out of Baghdad in greater numbers, and so are beginning to target outlying areas.
